Thank you very much for the thoughtful comment. I really appreciate it. It seems like a fairly even split between people who like the G12 and who like the LX5–pros and amateurs alike. Grrrr. You may want to look into that for your videos, which are awesome by the way!

I haven’t used the Canon G12, but one of the reasons for choosing the LX5 was the faster lens (f/2). The image stabilisation is also very good in the LX5 so it works well in low light, although the image quality really deteriorates at anything over ISO 400.
