great post Matt. We had a similar experience, although the thresher zoomed past us so quickly. I’ve also never had a dive with so few fish (or swimming, since we were on our knees on the ocean floor). With that said, it was so cool seeing thresher sharks!

Nice experience Matt! I went a few moths ago, I did see one Thresher but no Mantas or Whitetips unfortunately…

In reply to LizTeh. The Thresher Sharks are year-round. The locals say you'll see them 95% of the time.

Hi Liz,

I was there in December. I don’t know if there is a season for thresher sharks.

The whale sharks start arriving in the Philippines around November, but the best time to see them is February to May.

great article .
Can you also share with us when was the season you went to dive?

I don’t have alot of days in Philippines and hoping to dive with the Threshers and swim with the whale sharks. Wonder which months are the best time to go?
