Cyber Monday started in 2005 as a marketing gimmick to get people to buy lots of stuff online.
It worked.
Now, on Cyber Monday, online shops have massive deals on pretty much anything you can buy, and outdoors and travel gear are no exceptions.
I’m an affiliate for several discount travel and outdoors discount online sellers, so they all send me emails with their best deals. Some of them are really good.
I’ve been waiting for today to get some ski gear for my girlfriend. As soon as I’m done writing this, I’m going to do all of my Christmas shopping.
Here are the best deals that I’ve seen so far:
For the skiers and snowboarders, Leftlane Sports has Smith Optics Googles for up to 65% off and Rome Snowboards for up to 60% off as well as Sierra Designs outdoors apparel for up to 55% off.
For the extremely serious outdoors people (you know, the kind who will climb all day just to get one blissful run), Eddie Bauer First Ascent is offering 40% off of all of their super-technical outdoors gear.
GoLite has up to 70% off various lightweight and durable outdoors winter apparel.
Evo always has lots of cheap stuff, especially in their super closeouts section, in which everything is at least 60% off. Today, though, you can get an additional 20% off using the promo code SUPERBIG.
I just picked up a pair of $375 ski boots for my girlfriend for $120. I’m going to be doing a lot of shopping there!
Solstice Supply, a similar shop with similar discounts, is, not surprisingly, offering a similar deal. They sell snowboards, boots, and clothing for up to 60% off, but today are offering a
And, finally, the good ol’ Department of Goods is selling 70 items (everything from jackets to sunglasses to water bottles) for 70% off.
Now, if you can’t finish off at least half your Christmas shopping today, then you’re really not even trying.
*** I am an affiliate for many of these online shops, so I receive a small commission when people who click my links and go buy stuff in them. However, I could be an affiliate for basically any shop on the Internet if I wanted. I’m telling you about these shops because I shop at them myself, and believe that they offer great value. ***
Thanks for the heads up on these deals! I was always wondering what the origins of Cyber Monday were. In any case, I totally dig your transparency in terms of your affiliate relationships, as it doesn’t feel slimy or salesy at all.
Cheers!
Thanks Will! I endeavour not to slime people with my website 😉
