Capture the Colour is a travel photography contest being run by Travel Supermarket. I first heard about it when one of the judges, pro photographer Ken Kaminsky, wrote about it. A couple of days later I was nominated to participate by Caz and Caroline over at YTravel Blog. Thanks guys!
These are some of my best photos. If you like them, please share them with your friends on Facebook, Twitter, or Pinterest. Enjoy!

My Nominations
As part of the contest, I’m supposed to nominate five more bloggers to take part in the contest. My nominations are:
Ava Apollo – A master of humour and sarcasm. I don’t know how well she handles a camera, but now we’re going to get to find out.
Nomadic Samuel – I don’t think I know anyone with more travel photos than this guy. I’m looking forward to seeing what he comes up with.
Will Peach – The man behind the Gonzo Traveler. He’s crazy. I’m willing to bet that at least one of the photos will be a nude — of himself.
Rhonda Mix – This professional writer and former expat is a friend from my days in Taiwan. She now lives in the midwest, but I think she’s going to snap and run away soon.
Brian D’orr – A competitive kayaker and published sports photographer who is serious about adventure — so serious that he poured his savings into a giant live-in four-wheel-drive van that goes everywhere. Looking forward to seeing what he comes up with.
Great photos Matt. I love your yellow and red!
Thanks very much Caz. Good luck in the contest. Those are some awesome prizes!
Imagine my excitement when I clicked on your blog, looked through the lovely photos, then saw MY name nominated! Can’t wait to get my photos up! Also, “master of humor” is maybe the best compliment EVER. Thank you!
Oh yeah, damn, I forgot to tell everyone I nominated them. Whoops!
Wonderful photos Matt. 🙂 Thanks for the nomination! Your comment made me laugh because you hit the nail on the head. Every day that passes I grow a little closer to running away…
Good luck everyone!
Ha ha. Glad I hit the mark. Every day I spend in NA also brings me one day closer to stowing away on a ship.
Good luck!
I have no hope in hell of bettering this mate. I officially despise you.
Now I can rest easy, knowing I’ve done my job well 🙂
Great photos Matt! Love the concept of the comp. Appreciate the nomination. Will have to see what I can come up with:) Love your spelling of my name: “Brian D’orr”;)
I like your captured images but like the stories behind them more. But I can’t work out how to down load your photo essay ebooks? Where’s the magic button please?
Hey Max,
You should receive the download link in an email. It may be in your spam folder. If for some reason you haven’t received it, email me at xpatmatt@gmail.com and I’ll send it to you.
Cheers,
Matt
I LOVE your white photo! It captures the “anything can happen” mantra that is Burning Man. Good luck!
Thanks Natalie!
Love the lantern festival in Taiwan.
