Spain has a bad reputation in Europe for being a holiday destination for uninspired sun worshippers who just want to lie on the beach all day before staggering into an English themed pub to gorge on burgers. For those of us who know the real Spain, nothing could be further from the truth. Spain is a brilliant destination for hiking and walking trails. Grab yourself some cheap flights to Spainand check out these routes. A word to the wise: Spain is a very laid back country. While this makes for relaxing tascas where you can pick up a beer and some pintxos, it can also mean hazards. Be sure that you have the most up to date version of your guidebook, or better yet get advice from locals.
Dubbed by Bill Bryson the world’s most remote city, Perth is among the best cities in the world for outdoors adventures. There’s fantastic diving on nearby Rottnest Island. Surfing and kitesurfing near Perth are world-class, and sandboarding day trips to the Pinnacles Desert can be arranged.
If you’re planning on taking a trip to enjoy the wonderful outdoors, there are affordable flights to Perth that can be booked in advance with sites such as Expedia.
It’s not easy to find good outdoors adventures in cities. The reasons are obvious: there are no mountains, few (if any) rivers and lakes, and ski hills are all but nonexistent.
Most people enjoy a good adventure. Not everyone, however, thinks that they are capable of embarking on one. When most people think of adventure travel an image of a single unshaven man in the jungle with a machete (or a fedora and a whip) comes to mind. Conversely, the term “family travel” conjures images of all inclusive vacations to theme parks like Universal Studios and Disney World where adventure is simulated by tricking the senses with complex machines that actually employ intricate safety measures.
