I’ve been working on a story about outdoors adventures near Taipei, one section of which focusses on mountain biking in the city. Most people don’t realize that Taipei is pretty outdoorsy city and has several mountains within the city limits. There is some great mountain biking in the Beitou District and Yangmingshan National Park.
Yesterday an interesting item popped up in my Facebook feed. It was a link to the website for the Utah Undie Run. Emilie and I had just moved to Salt Lake City and our friend Danielle had come to visit. I thought it would be fun for us to do so I suggested it.
Not being the types to go parading around in their undies in front of large crowds, I was surprised that they agreed.
So, yesterday at around 5pm we stripped down and headed to the Salt Lake City Public Library where the event was to going to start.
Well, I’m sure that they’ve discovered more than ten. They have been doing this ridiculous rally since 2004.
Last June I spent a week in Mazatlan, Mexico a group of bloggers and social media all-stars courtesy of Go Mazatlan. Although I’d heard of Mazatlan before, I knew little about the city. Mazatlan, I learned, is not your normal all-inclusive drinking-on-the-beach Mexican destination. If you’re looking for that, you should go to Cancun or Puerto Vallerta.
Until now I’ve seldom written about my personal life on Matt-Gibson.org. I’m going to try and change that in the future. One of the great things about blogs is that readers get to connect with the person behind the screen.
So, here’s a bit of news: I’m moving to Salt Lake City, Utah!
He reached the 3, 970 m peak in 2 hr 47 min. The video isn’t new (it was made in 2011) but it’s new to me and it is the most inspiring thing you’ll see all day.
