You may have read my post last fall stating that I’m almost famous. It was an announcement that I’d finished filming my international TV debut episode of House Hunters International for the Home and Garden Network.

A Note From Matt: If you haven’t read the first four parts of the story, you should either read the recap below or read the story from the beginning to make sure you’re up to speed. Philippines Adventures PT2: Mud and Serendipity in the Rice Terraces of the Philippine Cordilleras
We arranged our accomodations in advance without knowing anything about the area that we were visiting, which is a perfect way to mess up your vacation before you even arrive.
Hiking and Biking Taroko Gorge, Taiwan
Hiking in Taroko Gorge, Taiwan is one of the best adventures in the country (along with surfing, hiking the bizarre southern coast, and scuba diving for hammerhead sharks). The incredible convenience, low cost, and the sheer volume of brilliant scenery that can be absorbed in a single day made this one of the best trips that I have ever taken.
My Top Five Budget Asian Adventures for 2012
Last year was an incredible year for me. I probably went on more adventure trips than ever before in my life; I went glacier caving, hiked the Banaue Rice Terraces and Taiwan’s Vertigo Trail, learned to scuba dive and swam with sharks, and attended my first Burning Man Festival.
Andrew Badenoch and the 77Zero Project

On March 25th Andrew Badenoch will be embarking on a journey unlike any I’ve ever heard of; he will travel from Seattle to the Arctic Ocean and back over land and water one a fatbike (a bike with super fat tires that can handle terrain that renders a normal mountain bike useless, like snow) and a packraft (small inflatable boat). He will use no fossil fuels to propel himself, or even to cook. His goals? To show the possibilities of sustainable travel and, of course, to have an incredible time.
