Via Ferrata in the Italian Dolomites

There is no better way for untrained mountaineers to experience the highest ridges and peaks of the most scenic range of mountains in the Alps than via ferrata in the Dolomites. Via ferrata is a system of cables, steps, and ladders embedded in a mountainside that enables untrained adventurers (with proper safety equipment) to ascend to peaks and ridges formerly accessible only to experienced climbers. The best place for via ferrata is in the Italy’s Domlomite Mountains, where it was first developed.

Reindeer Sledding to the Ice Hotel

The Swedish Ice Hotel in Swedish Lapland is exactly what it sounds like: a hotel made entirely of ice. As cool that sounds, it’s not the point of this trip. I just stumbled upon the ice hotel when I was looking for reindeer herding trips online. This trip is all about reindeer sledding (also called Vuoján) with the Sami people, the aboriginal people of northern Scandinavia.

Krakow, Poland Adventure Travel Guide

Proximity to the Carpathian (as well as other) Mountains makes trekking and hiking near Krakow an excellent option for getting outside. Numerous gyms and the mountains also make rock climbing in Krakow convenient. Surprisingly, Krakow’s kayaking club has a great course in the city, and scuba diving in Krakow is possible at the nearby quarry. Skiing in Krakow is even possible just twenty minutes away by train at the Krakow Valley Gold and Country Club.
